(I)/2001.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), the Federal Government is pleased to direct that the following further amendments shall be made in its Notification No. S.R.O. 28(I)/98 dated the 17th January 1998, namely:- In the aforesaid Notification, in the Table, in S.No.1, under heading “the Activities of Service Sector”:- (a) the existing paragraph should be renumbered as sub-paragraph (i) of that paragraph and in sub-paragraph (i), the words, commas and brackets ”real estate development, (development of commercial buildings, apartment buildings, housing projects, super-markets or shopping malls, urban development, development of new communities); hotel and tourism or tourism related services” shall be omitted; and (b) after sub-paragraph (i), renumbered as aforesaid, the following new sub- paragraph shall be added, namely:- “(ii) Foreign direct investment in Service Sector in any activity subject to condition that services which require prior permission or NOC or licence from the concerned agencies would continue to get the same treatment until and unless deregulated by such agencies and would be subject to provisions of respective sectoral policies.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (C.NO.(14)Mach.98-Pt.)
