Privacy Policy

The short version. Qanoon Digest is a static website. It has no accounts, no login and no comments. The only thing that asks you for anything is the contact form, and filling it in is optional. Nothing about you is sold or shared for marketing.

What is collected

Information you provide

Only what you choose to send through the contact form or by email: your message, the page it is about, and, if you give them, your name and email address. That is used only to handle your message and reply, and is not added to any mailing list.

Depending on how the form is set up, pressing send either opens your own email app with the message filled in, or passes the message to a form-delivery service (Web3Forms), which forwards it to [email protected]. That service handles the message only to deliver it, under its own privacy terms.

Information collected automatically

Pages are served by a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs, which typically include your IP address, the page requested, timestamp, browser user agent and referring page. These logs exist for security and reliability. They are not used to build a profile of you.

Visits are also counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by the site's host. It records which pages are viewed, how long they take to load, and the referring site, without setting cookies or following you across other websites. It is used only to see which pages people read.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising or cross-site tracking. Site search runs entirely in your browser against a pre-built index, so your search terms are not sent to a server. See the cookie policy.

Children

This site is aimed at a general adult audience and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Legal framework in Pakistan

This policy is written with reference to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA), which governs unauthorised access to and misuse of data in Pakistan, and to Article 14 of the Constitution, which protects privacy of the home and dignity of the person.

Pakistan does not yet have a comprehensive data protection statute in force. A Personal Data Protection Bill has been under consideration for several years. This policy will be revised if and when that legislation is enacted, and the revision date at the top of this page will change.

Your choices

• You can browse without providing any personal information.
• You can block or clear storage in your browser without breaking the site.
• You can ask what correspondence is held about you, and ask for it to be deleted, by writing to the address on the contact page.

Pages link to fbr.gov.pk and to FBR download servers. Those are separate services with their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
