EXEMPTION FROM CUSTOMS DUTIES AND SALES TAX ON IMPORT OF CERTAIN MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT AS ARE IMPORTED BY A UNIT OF APPROVED DAIRY INDUSTRY 86Notification No. S.R.O. 506(I)/84 dated 14th June, 1984.--In exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), and sub-section (1) and (2) of section 7 of the Sales Tax Act, 1951 (III of 1951), and in supersession of this Ministry's Notification No. S.R.O. 830(I)/78, dated the 29th June, 1978, the Federal Government is pleased to exempt from the whole of the customs-duties and sales tax chargeable thereon such dairy machinery and equipment as are not manufactured locally and as are imported by a nit of dairy industry approved for the purpose by the Provincial Government 87[or approved and financed by the Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan], subject to the following conditions, namely:- the importer shall, at the time of importation of machinery and equipment, furnish a bond to abide by the conditions laid down in this Notification failing which he would pay he amount o customs-duties and sales tax exempted under this Notification and make payment of any penalties that may be imposed by the Collector of Customs in this behalf; the machinery and equipment shall be installed in the approved dairy unit for which these have been imported and will not be sold or otherwise disposed of or untilised for purpose other than those for which these are imported; and the importer shall produce, within six months from the date of import thereof, a certificate in the form set out below issued by the Assistant Collector, Central Excise and Land Customs within whose jurisdiction the unit is located to the effect that such machinery and equipment have been installed in the importing unit of dairy industry.
