Exemption from Customs Duty and Sales Tax on Relief Goods As Are Donated for Afghan Refugees

EXEMPTION FROM CUSTOMS DUTY AND SALE TAX ON RELIEF GOOD AS ARE DONATED FOR AFGHAN REFUGEES 64Notification No. S.R.O. 1199(I)/83, dated 24th December, 1983.--In exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), and section 7 of the Sales Tax Act, 1951 (III of 1951), and in supersession of its Notification No. S.R.O. 354(I)/80, dated the 31st March 1980, the Federal Government is pleased to exempt from payment of customs-duties and sales tax leviable on such bona fide relief goods, including transport equipment, as are donated for the Afghan Refugees provided that such goods are received by the Chief Commissioner or the Provincial Commissioner of the Afghan Refugees and that in respect of the same the Secretary, States and Frontier Regions Division, or the Chief Commissioner for the Afghan Refugees certifies that these goods/equipments-- are meant for free distribution amongst Afghan Refugees, or for relief work, or for use in commission with the administration of Afghan Refugees; and would not be sold or otherwise disposed of without the prior approval of the Federal Government. 64.
