SALES TAX EXEMPTION ON GOODS PRODUCED OR MANUFACTURED IN PAKISTAN FOR FREE DISTRIBUTION AMONGST AFGHAN REFUGEES
Notification No. S.R.O. 1048(I)/81, dated 20th September, 1981.--In exercise of the powers conferred by section 1 of section 7of the Sales Tax Act, 1951 (III of 1951), and in supersession of S.R.O. 56(I)/80, dated the 15th January, 1980 the Federal Government is pleased to exempt goods manufactured or produced in Pakistan from the whole of sales-tax leviable thereon provided these are made available for free distribution amongst Afghan Refugees and are cleared from the manufacturing premises by an agency duly authorised in this behalf by:-
the Federal Government in the States and Frontier Regions Division or the Cabinet Division; or
the Chief Commissioner for Afghan Refugees ; or
the commissioner for Afghan Refugees, North West Frontier Province; or
Home Secretary, Government of Baluchistan:
Provided that the aforementioned agencies shall in writing, inform the relevant Collector of Central Excise and Land Customs, of the quantity, value, and duty involved on such goods well in advance of their actual clearance.
