NOTIFICATION (Central Excise) S.R.O. 665(I)/99.- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 12A of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (I of 1944), the Federal Government is pleased to direct that the following further amendments shall be made in its Notification No.S.R.O.455(I)/96, dated the 13th June, 1996, namely:- In the aforesaid Notification, in the Table, in column (1), -- (1) against item relating to “Cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes”, in column (3), in clause (v), for sub-clause (b) and the entries relating thereto in column (4) the following shall be substituted, namely:- “(b) if not covered by (a) above: (i) if the retail price does Two rupees not exceed four rupees and per cent twenty-five paisa per ten cigarettes. Cigarettes; and (ii) if the retail price exceeds Seventy per four rupees and twenty- cent of the five paisa per ten cigarettes. Retail price.”; (2) against item relating to “Polypropylene/polyethylene strips or the like”, in column (3), the words “subjected to duties of excise” shall be omitted; (3) item relating to “Woven fabrics obtained from polyethlense and polypropylense strip or the like” and entries relating thereto in columns (2), (3) and (4) shall be omitted; and (4) against heading relating to “Telecommunication services”, in column (4), for the words “Twenty-five” the word “Fifteen” shall be substituted. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [C.No.1(6)-CEB/99) (Syed Mohsin Asad) Additional Secretary
