Amendments in Notification No. S.R.O 656(I)/2006, dated the 22nd June, 2006.

GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN MINISTRY OF FINANCE AND REVENUE (REVENUE DIVISION) ***** Islamabad, the 11th June, 2008. NOTIFICATION (CUSTOMS) S.R.O 563(I)/2008.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), the Federal Government is pleased to direct that the following further amendments shall be made in its Notification No. S.R.O 656(I)/2006, dated the 22nd June, 2006, namely:- In the aforesaid Notification,- (1) in the conditions,- (i) in condition (i), for the word “verified” the word “certified” shall be substituted and after the word “Industries” for the comma and words “, Production and Special Initiatives” the words “and Production” shall be substituted; (ii) In condition (ia), for the word “Central” the word “Federal” shall be substituted; (iii) in condition (iv), after the word “Customs” occurring for the second time, the full stop and the words “.The matter will be referred to the EDB for a ruling and the importer shall be entitled to make representations before the EDB” shall be omitted; (iv) after condition (iv), the following new condition shall be inserted, namely:- “(iva) the importer-cum-assembler or manufacturer shall directly import the components as per the lists duly approved by the EDB or shall procure them from a sales tax registered local vendor, manufacturing such components and will maintain records accordingly;” ;

(v) in condition (v), for the words “importer-cum-manufacturer” the words “importer-cum-assembler or manufacturer” shall be substituted and after the word “prescribed” the words and letter “under Annexure B” shall be inserted; (vi) in condition (vi), before the letters “EDB”, occurring for the second time, the word “the” shall be inserted and after the figure “1969” the brackets, word and figures “(IV of 1969)” shall be inserted; (vii) in condition (viii), after the word “specific” the word “under” shall be omitted; and (viii) in condition (xi), after the word “Table” the brackets, words and figure “(except for Auto Rickshaw of heading 8703.2115)” shall be inserted and for the letters “CBR” the letters “FBR” shall be substituted; (2) in the Explanation, after the word “assembly” the word “or” shall be omitted; (3) in paragraph 2, after the word “Tyres” for the comma the word “and” shall be substituted and after the word “tubes” the words “and rim flaps” shall be omitted; (4) In the Table, in column (1),- (i) against serial No. 6, in column (4), for the figure “35%” the figure “32.5%” shall be substituted; and (ii) against serial No. 9, in column (4), for the figure “25%” the figure “20%” shall be substituted; (5) in Annexure A, after the heading “Paint shop”, the following new heading and the entry relating thereto shall be inserted, namely:- “2a. For Engine Assy and Testing for Motorcycles and Motorbike Rickshaws of PCT Heading 87.11 and Agricultural Tractors of PCT heading 8701.9020, namely:- (a) Engine Assembly Line (b) Engine Testing”; and (6) In Annexure B,- (i) in Form-A, under heading “Header Information” after the ninth

column for “CD rate applicable” the following new column shall be inserted, namely:- “ Country of origin “ ; (ii) in Form-B, after the sixth column for “CD rate applicable” the following new column shall be added, namely:- “ Country of origin “ ; and (iii) for the existing heading “Record to be maintained in respect of locally procured components” and the tabular form relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely:- “Record to be maintained in respect of purchase of locally manufactured inputs from vendors Quantity S.N Part Part Quantity Opening Purchased Name Total Vehicles Consumed Closing Name No Per Balance during the of available produced during Balance Vehicle As on year Vendor 5 + 6 During the year 8-10 the year 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11” 2.
