EXEMPTION FROM CUSTOMS DUTIES AND SALES TAX ON GOODS IMPORTED UNDER THE TRANSFER OF RESIDENCE (BAGGAGE IMPORT) RULES, 1983. 39Notification No. S.R.O. 537(I)/88, dated 26th June, 1988.--In exercise of the power conferred by section 19 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), and sub-section (1) of section 7 of the Sales Tax Act, 1951 (III of 1951), and in supersession of this Ministry's Notification No. SRO 585(I)/83, dated the 11th June, 1983, the Federal Government is pleased to direct that the goods brought as accompanied or unaccompanied baggage under the Transfer of Residence (Baggage Import) Rules, 1983, specified in column (2) of the table below shall be exempt from customs duty and sales tax in excess of the rates specified in columns (3) and (4) of the said table:-- TABLE S.No. | Description of goods | Customs duty | Sales Tax (1) | (2) | (3) | (4) 1 | Items specified in rule 3a(i), (ii) and (iii) | Nil | Nil 2 | Item specified in rule 3c(i) | 50% | 12.5% 3 | Item specified in rule 3c(ii) | Rs. 10 per litre | 12.5% 2.
