Central Board of Revenue is pleased to direct that the following amendments shall be made in its Notification No. S.R.O. 523(I)/2005, dated the 6th June, 2005.

NOTIFICATION (SALES TAX) S.R.O. 1002 (I)/2005.- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 6 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the Central Board of Revenue is pleased to direct that the following amendments shall be made in its Notification No. S.R.O. 523(I)/2005, dated the 6th June, 2005, namely: - In the aforesaid Notification,- (a) in the Table, in the headings in column (2), for the words “Central Excise”, wherever occurring, the words “Federal Excise” shall be substituted; (b) in the Table amended as aforesaid,- (i) under the heading “Sales Tax House, Karachi, and Large Taxpayers Unit, Karachi” in column (2), after serial No. 43, in column (1), and the entry relating thereto in column (3), the following new serial numbers and the entries relating thereto shall be added, namely: - “44. | Club Road Branch. 45. | Income Tax Building Branch. 46. | Hasarat Mohani Road Branch. 47. | Corporate Branch, Kehkashan Clifton. 48. | Corporate Branch, Chappal Plaza. 49. | Sindhi Muslim Housing Society Branch. 50. | F.T.C. Br).”; and (ix) under the heading “Collectorate of Customs, Sales Tax and Federal Excise, Quetta” in column (2), after serial No. 50, in column (1), and the entry relating thereto in column (3), the following new serial numbers and the entries relating thereto shall be added, namely: - “51. | Quetta Cantt Branch. 52. | Mannan Chowk Branch. 53. | M A Jinnah Road Branch, Quetta. ”; and (c) after the Table, the following explanation shall be added, namely:- “Explanation.- The bank branches designated under this notification shall be deemed as branches designated and authorized to receive payment of federal excise duty in terms of section 4 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005, read with CHAPTER IX of the Federal Excise Rules, 2005.”.
