Amendments in the Income Tax Rules, 2002.

GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN REVENUE DIVISION FEDERAL BOARD OF REVENUE -------------------- Islamabad, the 23rd June, 2008 NOTIFICATION (Income Tax) S. R. O. 655 (I)/2008.- The following draft of certain further amendments in the Income Tax Rules, 2002, which the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by section 237 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 (XLIX of 2001), is hereby published for the information of all persons likely to be affected thereby, as required by sub- section(3) of the said section, and notice is hereby given that the draft will be taken into consideration after seven days of its publication in the official Gazette. 2. Any objection or suggestion which may be received from any person, in respect of the said draft before the expiry of the aforesaid period, will be considered by the FBR. DRAFT AMENDMENT In the aforesaid Rules, in the proviso, for the full stop, at the end, a colon shall be substituted and thereafter the following new proviso shall be added, namely:- “Provided further that where House Rent Allowance is admissible @ thirty per cent the value taken for the purpose of this rule shall be an amount not less than thirty per cent of minimum of the time scale of basic salary or the basic salary where there is no time scale.” [C.No.4(5)ITR/06-pt] (USMAN KHALID MIRZA) Member (Direct Taxes)/ Additional Secretary Notifi.doc
