NOTIFICATION
(Wealth Tax)
S.R.O. 568(I)/99.- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 5 of
the Wealth Tax Act, 1963 (XV of 1963), the Federal Government is pleased to direct that
the following further amendments shall be made in the Second Schedule to the said Act,
namely:-
In the said Schedule,-
(1) in part I,
(i) clause (30) shall be omitted; and
(ii) for clause (31) the following shall be substituted, namely;-
“(31) Assets owned and held by a company, in which the Federal
Government and WAPDA hold, whether jointly of severally, more
than ninety-nine per cent shares, engaged in generation of thermal
power, transmission or distribution of electricity, for the
assessment year 1998-99, 1999-2000 and 2000-2001,”; and
(2) in part II, in clause (2), for the words, brackets and figures “entries (30)
and” the word “entry” shall be substituted.
