Amendment in SRO.666(I)/2006 -Baggage Rules, 2006

Government of Pakistan (Revenue Division) Central Board of Revenue **** Islamabad, the 8th August, 2006. NOTIFICATION (CUSTOMS) S.R.O. (I)/2006.- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 219 of the Customs Act, 1969 (IV of 1969), the Central Board of Revenue is pleased to direct that the following amendments shall be made in the (Baggage Rules, 2006), namely:- In the aforesaid Rules, (1) in rule 2, in clause (e), for the word “means”, the word “includes” shall be substituted; (2) in rule 3,- (a) in paragraph A, in clause (ix), for the full stop, at the end, a colon shall be substituted and thereafter the following proviso shall be added, namely:- “Provided that a laptop computer and its accessories in use of the passenger shall be allowed even where stay abroad is less than seven days.”; (b) in paragraph B, in clause (viii), the figures and words “50% of the total” shall be omitted; and (c) in paragraph C, for the word “Dutiable”, the words “Duty free” shall be substituted and after the word “goods”, the comma, words and number “,excluding the goods mentioned at serial number (viii) of Rule 3B,” shall be inserted. (3) in rule (4),- (a) in paragraph A, after clause (v), the following new clause shall be added, namely:- “(vi) weapon of non-prohibited bore for the personnel of armed forces, customs, police or any other law enforcement agency;”; (b) in paragraph B, for the word “Dutiable”, the words “Duty free” shall be substituted and after the word “goods”, the comma, words and number “,excluding the goods mentioned at serial number (viii) of Rule 3B,” shall be inserted.; and (4) in rule 5, for the Table the following shall be substituted , namely:- “TABLE (1) | (2) | (3) | (4) S.NO. | TYPE OF FERC | AMOUNT REMITTED THROUGH NORMAL BANKING CHANNEL (in US $ or equivalent foreign currency) | DUTY CREDIT IN PAKISTANI RUPEES 1. | Silver | 2500 or more | 10,000 2. | Silver Plus | 5000 or more | 20,000 3. | Golden | 10,000 or more | 30,000 4. | Golden Plus | 25,000 or more | 50,000 5. | Platinum | 50,000 or more | 100,000”.
