GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN MINISTRY OF FINANCE, ECNOMIC AFFAIRS, STATISTICS & REVENUE ********** Islamabad the 31st July, 2003 NOTIFICATION (SALES TAX) S.R.O.749(I)/2003-: In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 13 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the Federal Government is pleased to exempt the whole of sales tax chargeable on the import of promotional samples and brochures of the participant firms for Second Turkish Export Product Fair “A Single Country Trade Exhibition” at Karachi from the 8th to 11th October, 2003, subject to the following conditions, namely:- (a) The goods shall be in non commercial quantity; (b) The brochures and promotional samples shall clearly reflect their nature in print or embossment; and (c) The goods shall exclusively be used for the purpose for which they are being imported and the same shall not be sold or otherwise disposed off. 2. In case of non-compliance of any one of the above mentioned conditions, sales tax, levlable at the time of clearance of goods from Customs, shall be charged in addition to penal action as warranted under the Sales Tax Act, 1990.
